Why should I hire a wedding/event coordinator?
Hiring a coordinator can actually help you save money. Coordinators will keep your budget on track and can negotiate on your behalf to get lower prices or services. Many coordinators also have agreements with vendors for lower prices. At a minimum you should have a coordinator to look over contracts and handle the "day-of" this will allow you and/or members of your family and friends to relax and enjoy the day.

Why aren't your prices listed?
It is difficult to have a flat price for some services because individual needs and preferences vary on the individual couple, budget, or event.

What should I splurge for in my wedding?

What should I save on for my wedding?

Should we make guests pay for the drinks?
No! Having a cash bar and nothing else can be upsetting for your guests. Think of it this way, you've invited people to come and celebrate your big day, but you're going to make them pay for every drink all night long? You wouldn't invite people to your house and charge them for a couple of drinks, so why would you skimp like this at your reception? Instead you can provide drink tickets to each guest, for example. Everyone gets 2 drinks on you and beyond that, they will pay for their drinks. Or, you can pay for wine with dinner and let guests pay for drinks later in the evening.

Should we include registry information on our invitations?
No! This looks greedy and rude. Telling your guests about your registry on the invitation implies that they're only welcome if they bring a gift. Spread the word through your attendants and family. For those that are tech savvy, create a website and place a card with your registry information inside the invitation.

What if we don't want gifts?
If you don't want gifts at all or you'd rather have donations made to your favorite charity, you can carefully and tactfully indicate this on the invitation. Many couples opt for "your presence is our gift" or, "guests are welcome to make a donation to XYZ Charity in place of gifts for Mr. X and Miss Y." This lets guests know they are not expected to bring or send you a wedding gift.

How soon should I order my dress?
If your dress is a couture gown or a special order, make sure you order it at least 8 months before the wedding. Anything one-of-a-kind or from a designer is going to take at least that long. The same goes for the bridesmaids dresses. Make sure they've ordered in plenty of time to get alterations completed at least 2 weeks before the ceremony.
